Utility Billing System Upgrade

Dear Utility Customer,

The Town of Shipshewana would like to inform you of an upcoming upgrade to our utility billing system. Over the next several weeks, we are in the final stages of transitioning to a new software platform, BS&A Software, with full implementation anticipated by mid-May.

This upgrade is part of our ongoing effort to improve service, reliability, and accessibility for our customers.

As we work through this transition during the month of April, we kindly ask for your patience and understanding. While we expect the process to go smoothly, there may be minor timing differences in billing or payment processing as systems are updated.

What This Means for You
The new system will provide several improvements, including:

  • A new online customer portal that is more user-friendly and mobile accessible
  • Expanded online billing and payment options, including credit card and electronic check payments
  • Option to receive utility bills by email
  • Continued availability of ACH auto-pay with no fee (If you are currently enrolled in auto-pay, no action is required. Your automatic payments will continue without interruption.)
  • A new bill format, transitioning to a full-page statement with a more detailed breakdown of charges

Important Notes

  • Additional information will be provided in the coming weeks as we approach full implementation
  • Updates will also be shared on the Town’s website, social media channels and additional mailings
  • Our AccuFund payment portal has been discontinued as part of this transition. During this interim period, customers may continue to make online credit card payments using the Town’s secure payment form at https://shipshewana.gov/web-payment until the new customer portal is available.

At this time, no action is required from customers. Future communications will guide you through any steps, if needed.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at utility@shipshewana.gov or sign-up for email updates on our website. We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance our utility billing services and provide you with a more convenient customer experience.

Sincerely,

Tad T Hite
